The kindergarten team "haus fur kinder am kastanienbaum" (house for children at the chestnut tree) had prepared together with the parents' council a great martins festival. Around 100 children and twice as many adults came to the service and lit up the church with lanterns made by their parents. The children played the story of saint martin.
In front of the church, matleen theil stood ready with her white horse as saint martin and led the procession. From the market place the rough procession moved to the bus turning place of the anna-B.-eckstein school. The parents' council had planned the martinsfest there. At the beginning there was also the story of martin sharing his red coat with a beggar. In the school auditorium, children and adults warmed up with cucumber soup and warm drinks. The popcorn machine was constantly besieged, but there were also other small dishes and cold drinks available. A special feature was that all kindergarten children wore a lantern and a pendant with a goose around their necks. The latter could be exchanged for a yeast cake in the form of a martins goose. The children and adults celebrated the excellently organized st.-martinday.
